“Old Matters of Lotus Town”, a print created by Li Xiaoqiao, a student of the Visual Arts Programme, received the “National Young Artist Creation Award” at the Fourth Beijing International Biennale. The Beijing International Biennale is an important national cultural activity approved by the State Council and sponsored by the PRC Government. Known as a leading exhibition of contemporary international drawings and sculptures in China, it is highly influential in the contemporary arts worldwide.

This year’s exhibition attracted over 10,000 submissions from more than 80 countries, of which only 562 pieces were selected to enter the exhibition. Li’s piece, created under the guidance of Anita Fong, is the first work of art from Macao to be presented with a “National Young Artist Creation Award”.
